General knowledge
The purpose of ground impedance testing is to make sure that when the equipment
has abnormal situations, the ground wire can allow the breakdown current to
pass and therefore guarantee the safety of users. The test voltage requires
that the maximum voltage of open circuit should not be bigger than the limitation
of 12V. Namely, taking the safety of the users into consideration, when the
object is tested to be with breakdown, the risk of hitting by electricity is
reduced. The normal standard for ground impedance is smaller that 0.1 ohm, so it
is recommended that a frequency of 50 Hz or 60 Hz is used in order to comply
with the practical work environment.
